Custom manufactured, perfectly sized, straight-walled glass jar with a specially designed lid that keeps contaminants out but lets air in plus a rubber o-ring to mark your starter’s pre-expansion level after feeds.

Jar volume is 700 ml (which is a tad shy of 3 cups).
